I've got a problem with my pc, that I hope you can give me some tips on. I think its svchost.exe shit that is slowing things down. Does anyone have any ideas on how to make the this better? And very dumb question but is this happening to anyone else?

You should have multiple instances of it running, but each one combined should still come to a negligible amount of system usage. I have 13 of them, all registering 0 CPU time and between 4 and 30mb of RAM.

i'll imagine you did all the normal stuff

    1. Restart to see if that fixes it

    2. Scan for viruses (you never know)

    3. Remove viruses (if none were found, skip to 5)

    4. scan for viruses again (once again, you never know)

    5. try other commonly suggested computer fixes

    6. Install GLaDOS OS (if you get the reference (it's a youtube video) then have a virtual cookie) Don't Actually Install It BTW, it's EVIL (and it doesn't exist)

    7. try more other commonly suggested computer fixes (other then ALT+F4, that's just someone being a troll)

Damn, I had this problem with my Win XP laptop a few years ago

svhost.exe was running at 67% CPU and had accumulated about 700MB of ram (on a 1 gig computer).

I never actually was able to resolve it, and it ended in the untimely demise of my laptop after it got so slow and burnt.

    Anyway, I do have a technique on reducing its ram usage;

    1. Check for viruses
    2. Remove any viruses
    3. Uninstall your Anti-Virus (don't go on the web during these next steps)
    4. Review your processes in Task Manager. What things are unnecessary?
    5. Uninstall the parent programs of the unnecessary programs. This will remove the processes AND the services (which are generally run by svhost.exe)
    6. Re-install your AV and anything else you really need
    7. ???
    8. PROFIT!

Annnnnnnd if all else fail backup and reformat.

Its part of the system as we all know it.
Use Malwarebytes Anti malware to check in-depth virus and show you the listed of infected objects and if you have apps that are used for cracking ( for your own use to crack games etc and you don't want to delete them you manually select them to pick) and those that WEREN'T suppose to be inside are there then you delete them.
