    It's not possible to disable that at the moment.

    Actually you can change it. Just save a new default config with the license plate letters changed to an word of your choice.

    then at least make it work properly. I still shows my old name that I changed a month ago...

    You can change the default plate text in the world editor afaik

    It works correctly over there.
    It uses whatever username Steam provides.

    Is that your own default configuration? That would use whatever licence plate you had when you saved it.

    I suggest clearing chace (or removing beamng folder from documents backup mods first)

    Sort of, but not really. This only works for freeroam - it does not affect scenarios as far as I know.

    I've just updated my Steam Name Changer to work in a much more slick fashion. It will currently prevent the game from ever showing your real Steam name: https://www.beamng.com/threads/steam-name-changer-default-license-plate-hack-alias-tool.26838
