I've been thinking on making a mod with engines and decided to do it. So how do I make an engine mod? i dont have anything on making mods.
No but seriously, there are many threads on this topic, I know it can be hard as a newbie to modding, I'm one myself but there are plenty of threads on jbeaming engines.
Not really making an engine from scratch as it still uses an original mesh from the core game, it is only modifying the torque curves and some other values including inertia and friction. I have recently been making some higher performance engines that i have released as a mod and is awaiting approval. It is named CreasingCurve's Performance Engines and contains higher power engines and tunes for engines from the burnside, hatch, bolide and the moonhawk. i am currently working on a silvertop 4AGE engine that is basically finished and uses the covet's 1,5L DOHC engine as the model and the 6.2L supercharged Hellcat engine for the barstow that uses the 353CI mesh that the performance specs are attached to. I would be more than happy to write up a simple tutorial if this is what you are planning to do.
Here are a few threads, I apologise for coming across as rude, I swear there were tons of threads on this http://www.beamng.com/threads/tutorial-porting-engines-and-other-parts-inbetween-vehicles.28730/ http://www.beamng.com/threads/editing-pessima-engine-files-yields-nothing-in-game.25507/ http://www.beamng.com/threads/engine-tuning.28824/
The first 2 threads do not help with the thread creators issue at all. The last thread suprisingly contains stuff written by me and further explained by 6677. @DankMemeBunny it would be helpful if you could tell us what sort of engine mod you hope to someday create so people can answer your question without being confused and know what type of engine mod you want to create.
Thank you for these links I will try some. The reason I wanted to do this cause a mod car was too slow.
