    Hello!

Two days ago, I uninstalled and re-installed the game for the first time in four years. As I was looking through the game files for 0.18, I noticed something very strange about the "vehicles" folder compared to older versions.

There is no way for me to access or edit any of the .json files for any of the vehicles in BeamNG.drive.

This does not seem to be intentional (or maybe it is? I don't know). It seems rather weird that I can't go into the game files and start messing with them anymore. And before you say "clear cache", that's probably not going to fix this problem. This is all I have in my 0.18.4 cache, or in any one of my vehicle folders.

I'm sure that this is probably to reduce the size of the game files, but it just seems weird that a game about modding would prevent me from modding it all of a sudden. If this is something on my end (and I sincerely hope it is), how can I go about fixing this?

You are looking in the wrong folder.
Documents/BeamNG.drive does not contain any of the game's original files.
You are also looking into a cache folder.

The installation is in the Steam folder

Well, it's good to know that it is on my end. That means that I can fix it.

Unfortunately, I don't have a Steam folder anywhere on my computer. I have a Steam "My Games" folder which used to store all of my Steam games, but I don't have any folders called "Steam" anywhere on my computer.

I think you are still looking into your Documents folder. That's where some games uses the 'My Games' folder, and that is not where programs are usually installed.
That's where many software keep your personal files (settings, configurations, saves, etc)

Your Steam folder is wherever you installed Steam. By default it's C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam

An easier way to go directly into a game's installation folder is using the Steam built-in feature for that.
Right-click the game in your Library > Properties > Local Files > Browse Local Files.
That should open the folder where that game is installed.
