When you begin opening game files in Notepad++ you start off at a disadvantage - many of them do not load with syntax highlighting! Lots of problems can probably be avoided with a better setup in Notepad++. For the inexperienced this may not seem important, but it's a huge deal. An untouched install of Notepad++ will display jbeam like this: One with a proper setup will display it with syntax-highlighting. This color codes the words and symbols which provides a huge advantage in all circumstances: Here's how to set it up: Open Notepad++ and go to the "Settings" menu. Choose "Style Configurator..." from the menu. In the "Language" column on the left highlight JSON (Available since N++ 6.8.5): In the "User ext. :" box at the bottom, paste these values in to the box without the quotation marks: "prefab jbeam mis pc". Click on "Save & Close" Done - you should now have syntax highlighting.
