Solved How to edit BeamNG's normal maps?

    Hello. I would like to edit some normal maps for the official vehicles, however whenever I try to view them in SlowView I get an error.

    Also if I attempt to open the file using Paint.NET, I just get an error and it won't open it.

    Does anyone know how to solve this?

    I could only open them in photoshop CS6 until now :/

    DDS 3DC are not exactly meant to be imported/edited.

    What you could try is loading one of them in Blender UV/Image viewer, then save again in another format (like PNG).

    That seems to work nicely, thanks!

    Anyways, the problem seems to be that BeamNG's normal maps use BC5/ATI2 compression, whereas Paint.net and SlowView only support up to DTX5. I'll install GIMP which should allow me to save the texture in BC5 format.
