    Hi,
I'm a new player of Beamng an love this game !
I just played a few hours, but only with the original maps and cars. I'm tryind to download some mods but I don't manage to do it, I don't know why...
I searched how to do it before posting, in english and in french (I'm french) but it oesn't work.

    "
To install a new vehicle or level in BeamNG.drive follow the steps below

    1. Download the .zip of the vehicle or level you wish to install.
    2. Drop the zip file in C:\users\<username>\Documents\BeamNG.drive\mods
Please note that the downloaded zip must support the new 0.3.6.0 zip format if you are running a game version under 0.4.0.5. In the game version 0.4.0.5 any zip should work when dropped into the mods folder. "

I did it, twice, I have even uninstalled the game and done it again. It's in the right folder, but the game doesn't want to let me choose the new vehicles and levels... They does'nt appear at all.

I don't understand why because I can't see what I did wrong. Can someone help me ? Is there anything to do that it isn't indicated by the tutorial ?

    Thanks you :)

Make sure you are not running the game while installing the mods. I'm sure the game is closed though.
I'm guessing you have the steam version? If so there are some things you should try.

    1. Try deleting the cache. Unlikely to work because this sounds like a different problem. Try it anyways though just to see. Once you have deleted it, try to install mods.

    2. Uninstall the game. Next up, try uninstalling the game by going into your steam, right clicking BeamNG, and then clicking "delete local game content." That will only delete some files though. It will delete the BeamNG folder in your steam folder. It will not touch your BeamNG folder in documents.
    3. If nothing has worked yet, try deleting the mods folder. Just delete it, launch the game, close the game, and then try installing mods. Opening the game should make a new mods folder I think. If not, just create one yourself and add the levels and vehicles folders.

    4. Delete the whole game entirely. Go into your documents and just delete the BeamNG folder. Then go into steam and delete local game content. That will completely remove the game from your computer. Then reinstall the game and try installing mods. If that doesn't work, something is probably seriously wrong. That or I just have no clue.

I hope some of these help you! :D

Also, sorry if this didn't make much sense. I'm not much of a computer whiz lol. I hope you can understand though! xD

Thank for your response ! :)

No, I have no Steam account, I downloaded the game directly on the website.
But I did what you told though : I deleted the mods folder, indeed, open the game creatd automatically a new mods folder. I put the zip folders of one vehicle and one level into it but infortunatelly, it still doesn't appear in the selection menu... We don't need to unzip the downloaded folders right ?

It seems that the website version of the game is a little buggy. I too got the game from the website. I contacted the BeamNG support team and they gave me a steam code for free. I recommend creating a steam account and looking into getting a steam code. That will probably fix your problem. Signing up for steam is free by the way :)

EDIT: I also noticed that you said I put one vehicle and one level into the mods folder. Does that mean you just put it into the mods folder or did you actually put it into the vehicles/levels folder?

Also, in the french tutorial (and spanish, I checked) on the beamng website, it is very different. They tell us to go in the AppData folder and find the BeamNG.drive folder, in which we have to put downloaded mods. But in my AppData folder, there is no BeamNG folder...
It is quite annoying, I have to admit : it seems extremly simple, just a copy paste and I can't manage to do it :(

Well ok, thanks you again :)
This makes me wait the answer of Beamng support team but given the fact that I can't understant what my problem is, I will do that !

If anybody has another idea, I will listen to it though.

No, in the beamNG folder in Documents, which has been created automatically when I installed the game, there isn't vehicles/levels folder. So, I did exactly what they ask me to do, I put the two folders directly in the mods folder.
I also saw that there is a levels/vehicles folder in the beamng folder in my downloads (there is a lot of folders :p), in which there is every original maps and vehicles, but I didn't copy anything in it. Should I ?

Just make sure you are on the right track here. Here is a step-by-step guide to how to install mods. I added some screenshots too :)

    1. Go to my documents.

    2. Find the folder called BeamNG.Drive
    #1.png

    3. Go into mods.
    #2.png

    4. Drag you levels in this folder.
    #3.png

    5. Drag you vehicles in this folder.
    #4.png

If you are doing exactly what I did, you should be good. If you did this and it still didn't work, I don't really know what else to try. I hope this helps! :D

EDIT: If you want to try putting it in the other BeamNG folder with the original maps you could but I don't think it will work. It didn't for me at least.

Wow, thanks you for taking the time of screenshorts. Sorry to answer late I was playing :p
But that's weird, in the beamng.drive in my documents, in mods, there is no choice between levels and vehicles. It's an empty folder.

I tried to create them myself (because why not ? ) but it is still not working... Maybe it is because the json file is missing too ?
I will contact the support team tomorrow but I'm still waiting here if someone has an idea :(

I got a new problem now.
I don't know why, one vehicle (B 25 mitchell) and two maps (Benny hill and Carkour) work. I have put them in the vehicle/levels folders I created yesteday and I can play them. But every other thing I downloaded no, they do not appear. I put them in the exact same folder, but there is nothing to do, for no reason they don't appear...
And I downloaded many : 6 maps and 7 vehicles.
This is weird, if someone know why it keeps doing that and could help me fixing it, I would be happy :)
