I already tried: f11→scene tree→every selection include "dust" "smoke" "partical" set the "times" and "sizes" to 0.
It did reduced some from generating, but there still are some i cant disable no matter what.
Is there any way to disbale all the smoke/dust once and for all?
I find some mods can change shape, color, texture of tire smoke, so maybe there's way to modify these mods to make the smoke transparent?

I think we cannot, there's no option to disable particles. You can search for particle textures manually in the game files (I think it's in "art" file) and edit them to have an empty png.
Also, I don't see any interest about removing realism.

Have you tried setting your particles to the lowest they can be?

I did find the particle texture files, path: BeamNG.drive\content\art_shapes.zip\art\shapes\particles . Should i unzip the "art_shapes"to change the png file and use what spec to zip it back? I have the same question about how to modify mod's zip file.
About realism,if its just white tire smoke when drifting on tarmac, its fine. But,for example, when driving the sp dunekicker on sand/mud terrain like johnson valley's desert or the rally path in east coast usa, there is this random floating yellow/brown-ish low quality discrete pile of dust image occupied half of my monitor(when using chase/orbit camera) the real dust is more like a continuous trail of brown cotton

    instead of this:
    DesktopScreenshot20240516-01382365.png
so i would rather have it turned off
and if u try to, say make a video using the external camera, the most unreal element is this dust, unless the video is, like 480p,then it might looks fine.

u mean in graphics setting or something else

For some reason, my brain was thinking of Minecraft and where you can turn particles off in settings. In BeamNG, though, you can't do that. However, cessni's mods might still work. They don't have exactly what you are looking for, but they do have better particles for about everything else.

If particles were like this in BeamNG, it would lag alot. The devs have to remake the particle system some day because yes it's everytime a weird circle of dust which has brightness effect in the dark.

This happens some times when the text is too long, just click on "Preview" and screenshot the preview to post it here.

Hey DM me and tell me how you did this. I want to reduce the absurd amount of dust kicked up that obscures the 50% of the car during replays. Thanks!

Yeah Beam.ng particles kinda suck. I know they cant really pump in buttloads of em, but holy crap make the particles look better! (Or possibly look into volumetric systems...)

    BeamNG.drive\content\art_shapes.zip\art\shapes\particles
unzip "particles", find the .dds that matches the effect u wanna change ,for this pic u uploaded, it's DesktopScreenshot20240907-12590767.png
and rename it to .png and edit it the way u want(or u can just edit .dds if u know how) and rename it back to .dds after.
create new folders: nodust(or whatever u wannna name it)\art\shapes\particles , place the edited .dds inside, right click "nodust", 7-zip, add to archive, format: zip, compression lvl: 0-store. and u've got urself a mod

hope the devs can remake this in the near future, i try to upload my "no-smoke-or-dust" to repo ,apparently due to "overwriting official content" "therefore cannot be approved"

i try to post replys separately, but somehow it's in one post now ,i haven't quite figured this out

Thanks! I just didn't know that if you added the new .zip file to the mods/repo folder it would load it in and treat it like any other mod. I guess it does. I might try it today.

Maybe so. But I edited the particle files today to make them empty as @user8176 described and I don't miss all that dust. lol If I get a hankerin' for some dust I'll peruse the mods. Or I'll try making my own textures.

But the problem on West Coast USA's dirt tracks is not so much the textures themselves but the VOLUME that is produced by, I assume, the particle generator algorithm in the LUA or C++ code. I found a particle.lua file but I couldn't discern where the amount/volume of dust was being set.

I grew tired of looking and just edited the dust away. Maybe in the future I'll try harder to find that algorithm.

yep, cessni's Smoke Mod,idk why it got approved. maybe cessni uploaded it before no-overwriting-official-content-rule became a thing

Yeah, the only improvement they really made was the metal-scraping effects. I wish you could tell the game to use the new textures without overriding the old ones.
