How to delete multiple instances of same object at once?

Hey there, I'm trying my hand at editing maps, total rookie. I'd like to know if there's a way to delete multiple objects of the same kind at once, e.g. a certain type of building or lamppost, even if they are located all over the map. So far, I've been doing that one by one, or selecting a number of them if they're close enough. Hope my question's clear enough. Any help'll be appreciated. Thanks!

 

Scene tree. Search the object name. Select all. Delete.
