Don't attack me for asking such a stupid question, I've never really made a mod before. So I've wanted a new f1 mod in beamng since like 2020 but the last one was made in 2017 and then updated till like 2018 and then left to die. The person who made the f1 2017/18 (fr17) mod was working on an f1 2022 car which was meant to be completed but the maker has just disappeared, which is why I'm taking matters onto my own hands. I plan on using the existing jbeam from fr17 (I will try to contact him for permissions, he has not responded to my dms on beamng or instagram as of yet) I acquired a model for free from a website How do I put these things together and make a basic mod (This mod is being made just to fulfil my personal pleasures and will not be released on any website)
Right so basically what you do is: 1 get the model which you already have. 2 download blender 3 download fr17 Open blender and import both model files. Place the models correctly so it doesnt look weird. Rename parts to fr17 parts. Export dae Edit an info json Place both files into the fr17 folder. Edit the material files or material image names. Plonk that file into fr17 Plonk the fr17 into mods folder. Your pretty much done. This might not be correct but it works for me.
The maker hasn't disappeared, he simply isn't posting anything. You can check on his profile, he visits the forums from time to time.
