If I'm in a Gavril D-Series (suv or pickup) with 4wd, how do I engage it? There is no button or setting I can find to turn this on.

Also, is it possible to shift into low range gears?

4wd is always on if you have a rear and a front diff installed in your car.

Well, that can't be true because it would be nearly impossible to drive on pavement/any other solid surface. The trucks right now appear to be in all-wheel-drive.

That still seems like awd to me, it seems apparent when these vehicles start losing grip where they shouldn't. How the power is distributed is the key difference. Is this the same system they used for the awd vehicles, like the Sunburst?

Also, the off-road variants seems to be over powered, especially in terms of acceleration. A 4x4 Roamer has a faster take off than a Bolide 390 GTR.

The offroad versions have the stage 2 engine tuning with supercharger, and also soft sticky tyres, that's why they are so quick. Remove the engine tuning if you want less power..

About the 4wd/awd.. There currently is no way to engage 4wd or lock differentials by pressing buttons. The only thing you could do (AFAIK) is to make a new differential which would be locked all the time (like the welded diffs on the drift versions)

when i tried using the welded diff settings with the lower gearing i was easily able to spin one wheel like it was a lsd, i put the "closed torque" up to 5000 which mostly keeps them locked together, but i still can't find the setting to lock the front and rear diff together, they just act like an lsd's between them.

Currently the way the 4wd works is that all differentials are linked together through the viscous coupling of the transmission, adding essentially a viscous lsd between every differential. It was done this way to make any number of driven axles possible without creating "differential inception", while at the same time creating a system that does not bind when steering, or spin a single wheel up to a billion rpm when it breaks loose. Changing the viscousCoupling value in the transmission will have an effect on how strongly the axles are locked. As well, a manual transmission should be more effective than an automatic at locking the axles together. Another thing you can try is to add 2 locked differentials in the jbeam, one on each "side" between a front and rear wheel. This should overconstrain the differentials and make all 4 wheels turn at the same speed always.
