How do I swap engines from a vanilla car to a mod?

    I've followed many tutorials, tried many different things, but either the cars shows up as not having an engine, or the swapped engine is not showing up the the parts selector.

    On this attempt, I tried to swap the vanilla 200BX's engine in by giving it the same slot type as the Signia, as well as giving it it's own file as the others have; "signia_engine_dohc_i4.jbeam".

    still hasnt worked, so i'm looking forward to some advice
