I've just modified Italy map adding some props in the world editor. When I click on "Save Level As": 1. Why does it only let me select the FOLDER and not the NAME of the file? 2. Where should I save the level? If I try with Documents>Beamng>levels it shows me just "Italy" folder, and as I said I have no idea how to actually save it, it doesn't let me type the file name, and instead of "Save" button there is "Select Folder". Please help me, thanks.
1. The entire folder is the level, not the single file. When you save, it's going to save all the changes you made to the level. Every file has different purpose, but they are all part of the level. 2. You should use the 'Save Level' button, instead of 'Save Level As'. The default location is Documents/BeamNG.drive/levels/<ThatLevelName> As said above, when you save, it will only save the files you changed.
I have done what you said. So now if I quit the game and then return to Italy map will I find the world like I saved?
Yes. When you save something, the editor will save the files you modified. As long the files are located in your Userfolder (Documents/BeamNG.drive by default), in the right location, the game will priority load them over the original file. This way of working with files allows you to edit content, without actually replacing any original file. Is anything goes wrong, you can simply remove your saved changes, and the game will go back to load the original files from the installation folder.
Sorry for the bump, but I think it's better than creating another thread! I've modified an add on track, basically mended all the broken textures. I'd like to use it in BeamMP so I need to be able to download my version. Is there a way of doing this?
