Hotlapping app not working

The hotlapping app does not set any checkpoints, it doesn't matter what map I am on or what vehicle I am in, the start hotlapping button doesn't set the starting checkpoint and using add checkpoint doesn't add any either.
I have tried disabling mods, clearing cache and verifying the game files yet nothing changed.
Not sure if the app is just broken with the recent update or possibly there is something I should check that I haven't considered.
