    i want to start making my own skins but i have no idea what program i need to open up a 3d rendering of the cars. can anyone help me out?

    You dont need a 3d rendering software to make skins.

    its easier for me to create the skins while making it on the car, kinda like forza, i haven't looked at the link yet but thank you for linking it, im going to go look at it

    I'm just gonna let you know skinning in BeamNG doesn't actually work like that. You have to make them on a 2D image, as far as I know there is no alternative.

    you could use blender with the painter functionality, the problem is that you will lose a lot of time setting up everything for each vehicle, and it's also a bit less precise imo.

    The game will autoreload your skin when you save the picture file, so you can see changes live in game
