Hey guys, as some of you know, I have a 6 TB HDD. I want to split it into a 1 TB partition and a 5 TB partition, but I don't know the numbers for the shrink. (imported from here) Also, the drive currently has a few files on it, so I want to know if it will be deleted. Thanks. pf12351
Re: Help with drive partition please Well for starters it would appear to only contain 5.5tb according to windows [This is normal] In the factory they only count 1kb=1000bytes where as windows 1kb=1024byes so do expect this to be a thing. I know that from when I had to do this with my 4tb drive I got last year. Windows recognized my 4tb as a 3.65tb drive so I made a media partition [Media M:] for my drive of 1tb [only made it 991gb] and a software partition [Main Data Drive H:] for my drive of the remaining 2.66tb Relative Info So for your 1tb just set it to 1 000 000/1000000 MB and for the rest just set it to whatever is left for the 2nd portion you want to create. You should have a 2nd drive size of something like this: 4502457mb [4.5tb] approx 4.5million mb
