Yes, this is a GPU issue. You can easily distinguish it by the green colored "snow flakes" on the screen. Either you have a too high overclock on GPU shaders, or your GPU is dying

Before you conclude that your GPU is dying, have you tried reinstalling your graphics driver? A faulty graphics driver shows similar symptoms to a dying GPU.

I have not overclocked it so it's probably dying.

I can try reinstalling the driver.

I have reinstalled the driver and the issue is still here.
Does anyone have any other ideas or is my GPU dead?

Well, have you experianced any crashes in game, or a bsod?

Also, does your desktop have artifacts?

The issue only happens while playing games using the dedicated GPU. I have not had any crashes.

Your graphics card is defiantly dying. You need to get it replaced real soon, or this kind of error will come up one day:

At that point, your graphics card is a useless brick.

you can try underclocking/undervolting it and see if it clears up

or put it in the oven

I looked it up, and you can take apart the laptop, so you can replace the GPU.

What kind of graphics card do you have?

literally says "the gpu is welded to the motherboard"

you could replace it, technically, with some real elite soldering skills

or just stuff it in the oven and hope for the best

    and then give up

Hm, well it'll be a hard time to get the graphics card removed, and I can't find anything on Amazon or Newegg for a GeForce GT 650M, so you may need to buy a new laptop altogether.

With all the issues I have been having lately I have been planning on getting a new laptop eventually even before the issue with the GPU.

I always thought gpu artifacting doesn't show up in screenshots, I am perplexed.
