So, I'm planning on building a new PC very soon, which will contain a GTX 1060, and I was wondering if There would be any benefits of combining it with a GTX 1050 that my friend is gonna give me for free after he upgrades to something better. Is it worth going through the extra trouble of installing another GPU?

A GTX 1060 and a GTX 1050 are quite useless in only one system.
You could use the 1050 as a PhysX card, but there isn't a real gain in performance.

Thank's for the info! I've decided that I'm gonna hook the 1050 up to a separate monitor and use it for encoding and web browsing.
