Got new computer, BeamNG doesn't like it.

I just upgraded my computer and gave it new parts and tried to install BeamNG, it installs just fine until the updater opens up and says:

Unable to get current version: please check your internet connection.

My connection is fine, and everything is operating right. Because the updater can't work, BeamNG won't run.

*I upgraded from 233GB Windows XP to 465GB Windows 7.

Do you mean that you changed OS and HDD? Try redownloading the game.

Sounds like it has something to do with your internet connection and settings. Or, as suggested by Davidbc, you'll have to redownload it.
