    Hello,

I am getting super bad stuttering/hangs/very low FPS when playing BeamNG (Version 0.29-0.36). I have tried so many different things such as disabling all mods, getting new drivers, re-installing BeamNG, various YouTube hacks to optimize my computer for gaming, and nothing works. I feel this started in version 0.29 and has since been a major issue. Maybe it's a Windows 11 thing as I recently upgraded? Who knows. Here are my specs (yes I'm on a laptop; the question is, before 0.29, it wasn't perfect, but I was NOT, getting these huge frame hangs):

    Intel Core i9-11900H @2.5GHz
    NVIDIA RTX A3000
    32gb RAM
    Windows 11
    0.36 Version of BeamNG
All video card drivers are up to date

Would really appreciate any help because honestly, this is super frustrating and makes playing the game or making videos extremely difficult.

    Thanks!

    what map are you using?
    --- Post updated ---
and what app are you using to record?
    --- Post updated ---
maybe set you fps max to 60 and put your graphics on normal, it might be the map because it recently got updated. try a different map like gridmap, ECUSA, cliff or small island usa

I'd suggest doing what people said before my post, but I would also suggest looking at the performance graph to see what might be spiking. You can open it by pressing Ctrl + Shift + F. You can see what component of your PC and/or game is bottlenecking at the top, where you will see different things, like the GPU, CPU, etc. If it is flashing or lit up, it means that component is what is limiting your FPS. I'd also suggest looking at Resource Monitor, which can be opened by typing its name into the start menu search. Look for any spikes, abnormally high CPU usage, and make sure your maximum frequency (the blue line) is, preferably, above 100%. If the maximum CPU frequency is below 100%, it might indicate thermal throttling, which was mentioned above.

    Hope this helps!

If I remember correctly, Nvidia A#### cards aren't really made for gaming but moreso for "workstation" things, so they may not always have the same tech thats used for games.
Make sure that the game is actually running on your dedicated GPU and not your integrated GPU (..if you have a iGPU?). Checking task manager > performance tab while having the game open could give you the answer.
I honestly don't know what else you could try, but checking what others have said above could definitely narrow down potential issues.

Thanks for the replies everyone! I am still trying various suggestions but the only thing that is making the game playable right now is capping my FPS really low at like 30-40. It's not a solution because the hangs/stuttering still happen, but they happen less and are less jarring. The most frustrating part of this is that I used to be able to run the game on ultra with decent reflections and and shadows at about 50-70 FPS. I swear 0.29 changed something but unfortunately I haven't been able to figure it out yet. I'm praying Vulken will fix this eventually. Anyways, I'll report back if I find a solution. Thanks again for the help and suggestions!

Well, I tried a bunch of stuff and nothing was working but then I noticed I was indeed reaching the GPU temperature limit (thanks for the suggestion @DesertEagle_2000 !) so I made a little stand for my laptop to give it more breathing room and honestly, it seems to be working better now! We will see if it reverts back with time but it would make me laugh if all I needed this whole time was better airflow. Thanks again everyone!
