Well I owned an Opel. I have almost nothing good to say about it and therefore I'm out. Although this shouldve gone in the automotive section of offtopic or even been merged with the general car discussion thread.

As an owner of one of the greatest German sedans of all time, I too approve of this thread.

Designed in 1989 and still looking damn good today :D

    (not accually my a4 topkek)

A manufacturer as obscure as Borgward is allowed but Gumpert and Wiesmann aren't? ;)

'03 E46 M3 'Vert owner present! And I just found out why the rear right tire wasn't keeping pressure. I'll take it in to get the tire patched up tomorrow. We also own a 2011 BMW F25 X3 xDrive35i, a 2008 BMW E90 328i, a 2010 BMW S1000RR, and a 2008 Mercedes W204 C350. They've all been fantastic cars (and motorcycles) with only a few minor issues in the time we've owned them, and we've only really had to do basic maintenance (oil changes, brake rotors and pads, etc.) on all of them. We loved the BMW F10 525d we had as a company car when we lived in Wroclaw, Poland, and it kind of got out of hand from there. :p

How many different discussion threads do we need?
I mean, we have a general car discussion thread that has hardly any activity in it, why not just take it there?

    That is designed 89?
    It looks like early 2000's

    lol
    liar
    its 98 not 89.

One neat car tho, but i guess that no old audi gets simple maintainence.

Designed is a funny term. Of course, this second generation S4 was released in 1997, however the 1st generation dates back to 1991 (so it would most likely have had some sort of concept drawing finalized by 89). Seeing as the general silhouette of the 2nd generation is rather similar to that of the Ur-S4, one could say that the styling dates back to 1989.

Bakasan almost hit the nail on the head (the breadth of your car knowledge is incredible, what the hell man). The basic exterior design was fleshed out by Imre Hasanic (of first-gen A8 fame) in 1989, but of course there were several developments before the final mules were tested for production readiness sometime in early 1994.

    (imported from here)

The A4 I posted is a 1999.5 facelift with S4 Avus rims; the S4 is distinguished by chromed window trims, body-coloured doorsill moulds and gravel trays. There was also a slight facelift in 1997 where the front guard Audi badges were deleted, along with a redesign of the taillights, side markers, door trim strips and doorhandles.

My 1996 A4 gets nothing but simple maintenance. All I've done over the past few years is consumables- brake pads, bearings, belts and the like. ;)

    edit:

    Pre-facelift:

    (imported from here)

Note the thin door trim strips, front guard Audi badging, rounded doorsills, two piece headlights with integrated foglights, and coloured lower grille supports.

    Post-facelift:

    (imported from here)

The door trim strips have been thickened, the front guard badging is gone, and the side markers have changed. The headlights are now one piece HIDS with the foglights residing in a redesigned lower grille assembly. There's also an accent running along the width of the front bumper.

I could write pages about this stuff, haha. Not much really changed stylistically from the original 1994 design to the final 2001 run.

I like the Volkswagen t3 buses. They're the best looking buses (in my opinion) and have the most options to customize it (apart from the t1 bus,of course):D

    ...that explains my avatar

    anyway, DKW anyone?

My mother has been driving Opels for 8 years now I belive.
First she had an Astra Sedan, then a Vectra Wagon, and now a Zafira.
All of them are from the 2003 - 2005 range.
I enjoy the Zafira the most.
It just feels more comfortable than the other two.

I like the Commodore Interior more because it's got cupholders.
Than again, it'd be useless in Germany.
