Re: General discussion chat I'm leaving to go attend my best friends funeral guys pray for me.. This isn't going to be easy.
Re: General discussion chat I honestly can somewhat see how he got that, as the badge at a glance does not look like the chevy badge. Still, if that's the only proof he has, he's in no position to be preaching these "facts".
Re: General discussion chat pls. You should see the speeds of my Latitude D430. Cheap little ZIF drive. About 17MB/s in sequential. (SSD for it would be about $45 for a 32GB so I'm just gonna sell the netbook and buy a newer one instead. Like a Latitude E4200 or E4300. Maybe an E4310 (i5 instead of Core 2 Duo) but probably not.)
Re: General discussion chat Oh god. Was he involved in that crash? That really really sucks dude. My thoughts and payers go out to his family and all of those affected.
Re: General discussion chat Do you have a valid warranty for it? If you do, you should use it before it runs out. I don't remember exactly but doesn't the warranty last for around a year? Sent from my BLU ADVANCE 4.0 using Tapatalk
Re: General discussion chat thats not my main pc, thats my laptop that i let me siblings use for their games(which was set to 4000MB FYI), this is my main pc(using your 50MB settings): hoping to get a 1TB SSD for cmas, but doubt it because they cost like $500
Re: General discussion chat I have no clue what to do! I want to connect my keyboard to my PC to create music, but I don't know how.
Re: General discussion chat Ok, I'm going to start off by apologizing, but what happened? I live under a rock, as you all know. What crash?
Re: General discussion chat A crash occurred on Tuesday night in Rockwood (where he lives, and about 45 minutes down the road from me), and killed 2 people. You can see later that night, he figured out that someone he knew was in one of the cars. He then went silent for a few days. From what I've gathered, a 20 year old, the same age as him, was one of the ones killed, which I am guessing was his friend. Whether it's clarks friend or not, it's still a very tragic event. Take this with a grain of salt, as I could be completely wrong.
Re: General discussion chat oh sweet, i just found my first ever non-hand me down from parents or grandparents pc in the closet compaq presario a916NR 17" laptop tried booting it up, "No boot media found, please insert boot media then hit any key to continue" of course, hdd is missing right, i remembered why i stopped using it, the hdd crashed itself into unbootability darnit next time i buy an hdd, i now have 2 to get (well, probably, obviously one for compaq laptop, possibly one for old hp compaq elite 8000 ultra-slim desktop that suddenly got stuck in a boot loop, would reboot just a moment after POST, so it could just be a corrupted boot menu i guess, but first i need a new power cord for it because that's ALSO broken, and it uses a laptop charger (130W, local stores all carry 60-90W only, it just flashes red lights trying to boot with that))
Re: General discussion chat This had to be done. OT: Clueless math kid also knows about 150 digits of pi. And he says this: "Cars are useless, I'll never need one."
Re: General discussion chat My truck sound good? Gotta get the Grand Marquis sounding better in the spring.
Re: General discussion chat Why? Wait for another 128/256GB to go on sale for a great price (There was a Corsair that was $25 after rebate on Newegg at one point. I was too late because it sold out though.) and buy a bunch. Then RAID0. You'll get the space along with a lot more speed. (Also less reliability, but who cares.)
Re: General discussion chat because i have a 1tb drive, and i'd like to not deal with manually moving everything to the separate drives
Re: General discussion chat Do you know how RAID0 works? It basically combines the drives into one "drive" that's a lot faster. If you had 4 256GB SSDs in RAID 0 you'd have one drive in Windows for all your stuff and it'd be a lot faster than one SSD. (Not that one SSD isn't already plenty fast.) I think Linus from Linustechtips has like 8 RAID0 SSDs in his personal PC.
Re: General discussion chat Don't use an SSD for storage, use it for boot only. They can only write so much before they fail and you'll lose everything if it does.
