Got the car fixed today, turned out to be the pinion for the starter motor grinding on the flywheel, just like @SixSixSevenSeven said. thanks man.

Well, I do live in halls style accommodation. So there are multiple large buildings, each one containing many flats. Then each flat is a corridor with en suite bedrooms along it and a kitchen/living room area. In my case there are 6 bedrooms in my flat. Where I currently live it goes between 3 rooms and 6 rooms depending on availability and preference. Every bedroom has a locking door. Every flat has a locking front door, every building has a locking door and the accommodation ground have a locking door. But in one of the other buildings they have flats of 23 rooms that all share a single kitchen, which sounds like hell on earth to me. You can also rent a flat as well. Which I presume is what you are thinking of where multiple students group together to rent a house.
