I've searched for other users having this issue, and I've only seen a couple of people having issues with their "Display Mode" not saving. However, none of the settings that I choose get applied/saved.

All Graphics settings, Gameplay settings, etc, will register, but as soon as I navigate away, the changes go away. For Graphics settings, clicking "Apply" causes the game to flash like it's trying to apply, but nothing happens.

I can make changes manually to the game-settings files, and those load properly, but the game itself cannot save any settings. I've waited for a couple updates, but this started at the last major release (the two hotfixes have made no change). I've reinstalled Steam, the game itself, checked permissions on all of the relevant folders, but nothing has helped.

That's usually caused by some program blocking the game from doing certain actions.
Please check if you have any of these:
    https://documentation.beamng.com/support/compatibility.html
And make sure that your antivirus, and similar software are not blocking the game by mistake.

If you are unable to located the source of the issue, you may try to change your Userfolder location (by default is Documents/BeamNG.drive)
To do so, use the Launcher > Manage Userfolder menu. You may try a location that does not require special permissions to use (ie. C:\BeamNG.drive)

Thank you for your feedback. I had previously tried to move the UserFolder to no avail, but I just tried again to be safe. It made no difference, unfortunately. I also checked to see if I had "Controlled folder access" enabled in Windows Security, and I don't.

I've also tried uninstalling and reinstalling BeamNG, and then Steam, but again that made no difference. Do you have any other suggestions? I appreciate any help you can offer.

Update: It appears that a file or a permissions issue was present on a file in the UserFolder. Resetting or changing the UserFolder location was copying those over, which explains why no change occurred there. Completely deleting my UserFolder, then resetting it to the normal location, has fixed the issue.
