Game running crappy at 10 FPS, nivida gtx 1080

The game was running very crappy at 10 fps. When I closed the game I got this error.



Somehow the texture manager deleted itself and it looks like the game is trying to get rid of textures. It might be continously spamming this in the console, which might be the source of this crappy gameplay. Yesterday it was running well. When I press "Yes", the error just repeats. Running in Safe Mode removes this error, and the game runs well. On my (heavily) modified game, a restart did the job. But what? Why was it lagging for me before?

 

There's your problem. A ton of mods not only increases loading times by a lot, but also can cause a decrease in framerate and break your game if they are outdated. Your best bet is to remove all the mods from your game and slowly add them back until you find the broken mod(s).
