Game randomly won't close

Been having an issue lately with the game not closing properly, when I try to load it up again later I find it's been running in the background the whole time...

Well, it's randomly happening again, this game needs to add something that checks to see if it actually closed or not.

 

it could very well be a steam issue and not a game issue, i have had this issue happen with steam several times where other games will try to run in the background, just go into task manager and make sure its closed every time if its starting to use too much memory

 

I don't launch my game through steam though.

 

Unless your using the Humble Bundle version or have it burnt to a CD or something it always launches through steam. Even if you just make a desktop shortcut for it it will always boot up steam so that steam can launch the game. Desktop shortcut just saves the trouble of opening steam to click a button and just automatically opens steam and clicks the button for you.

 

That's not true actually, I run the launcher from the game folder then launch the game from there, I have no need to have steam open to do it.

 

...It still runs steam to verify that you have the game on steam. This is probably why it still runs in the background when you shut the game down

 

Actually it doesn't but I'm not going to continue arguing about it.

 

You can test it for yourself and see that im right, open task manager and then open through your shortcut, you should see that steam will open a client in your processes to ensure that its you playing the game, its how getting a game off of steam works. And its part of the reason why you have this issue, is because its not properly shutting down on the steam-end of the game. Your arrogance has ended up being your downfall my brother

 

I have & steam doesn't open, steam doesn't even register when I'm playing even when it is open. Just give it up already & admit you're wrong.

 

Odd that this is just randomly happening again...
