When I try to start the game up it immediately tells me it failed to load the game library and asks me to make sure I have the latest version of Directx... which I do (Directx 11). also after I click out of that warning message it is followed by another saying it failed to start because the file X3DAudio1_7.dll was not found. I have reinstalled it multiple times. I do not know what to do! Please help!

    Thank You

Please look at your dxdiag to check your directx version (Make sure), X3DAudio1_7.dll, That file should be included in your windows install?

I apologize if I am misunderstanding, but it looks like the FAQ takes you to something related to DirectX 9, whereas the original poster (and I) have DirectX 11. Isn't that downgrading our software?

no, windows 8 simply misses the old DirectX versions. It will install alongside with it.

Thanks tdev. We have Windows 7. Is it the same case with that operating system?

Just installed the updates; we're all set. Thanks for the confirmation that all it was doing was adding the missing files...appreciate it!!

New Windows 7 installation. The link in the FAQ doesn't work. During attempted install it says there was an error and check the log files. The web searches I've done say you can't uninstall directx11 (it's built into OS) to install dx9, and all point to the same web installer for dx9 -- the one that isn't working for me. Here's my DirectX.log file:

    Thanks for any help

I think I solved my own problem. I tried running dxwebsetup.exe as administrator and that also failed, but when I start beamng drive as administrator then it goes ahead and performs the directx install without error.

After the first time I don't need to run beamng drive as administrator.

Hope this info is useful for someone else too.
