I was thinking if we want to break a car to the exact way you want could you add like a circular saw a sledge hammer, band saw,or maybe a chainsaw? or lol duct tape and glue?

 I'm not really sure what you mean. Do you mean adding power tools to precisely damage the car? I personally don't like the idea, but I LOVE the duct tape idea. If your car takes damage in the middle of a race, the only thing you get to repair your car is duct tape (mostly to reattach fallen parts). That way, you pay a price for driving recklessly (wrecklessly...awesome pun...:D) in events. If you are just free driving, you should be given the option to fully repair your car though. The duct tape would only be for events.

I would love to see powertools and other tools in the game. Or just pick a brick or stone and throw it to your car and see what the damage is. But I would really love to have a sledgehammer or a big axe and hit your car until all parts off the car are totally destroyed. But anyway i would like to destroy a car in the game with any tool you give me! :p

Hmm...that's a weird idea. I personally don't want any power tools, but it sounds like there is some interest. It just seems odd to put power tools into this game when you could just crash it into a wall or another car.

Nah, I dont really prefer power tools too. But I would like it if there was stuff like sledgehammers and axes in the game.
Like you could simulate how some random idiot hits your car with a sledgehammer. :p

Actually, I just made a post relating to this. What if you could use stuff like that as "vengeance markers"? Here's how they would work...Let's say that you were in a race and somebody rammed you off of the road. After the race, while he's accepting his trophy, talking with others, etc., you could sneak over and leave him a little message. My original idea was just graffiti, like using spray paint to write stuff all over their car. The sledgehammers and axes could fit in nicely too. You could dent up the body, break the headlights and windshields, and whatever else you feel like hitting. Someone else suggested tire slashing, but that sounds too critical. That would affect the performance of the car, which would be frustrating. I think it should be harmless, but still dish out some damage to get the message across. Also, just so everybody doesn't just run around messing up each other's cars, there should either be a small fine for doing that (yes, a fine. Would you honestly be that angry if you had to pay a small sum of money to get your revenge? ;)), or make these tools very expensive or rare. I think the fine would be the most efficient because you would need to be really angry to be motivated to do this. Of course, the other person could always wave the fine if they wanted too. Well...it seems I've rambled a bit. My bad. :)

Wow, good idea! you must spend a long time typing that xD. But I thought more of a little menu like in RoR you could move your mouse to the upper left corner and see a menu and choose a new vehicle and stuff, But then with tools like all kinds of hammers and axes and other tools like a baseball bat or just a rock or a brick (various sizes with various weights, maybe?) But anyway the baseball bat will not make holes in the car but the axe will ofcourse. But I dont prefer to make these tools and stuff can only be used in races and derbys but they can be used too if your just driving around in the ''Sandbox'' mode, if you know what I mean. Just for destroying your car in diffrent ways then only crashing. :D

Very true. But I didn't like the menu aspect of RoR. It made it seem like a program more than a game (and a pretty slick program might I add ). You had no objectives because everything was just in the drop down menu. It was convenient, but it wasn't a game. It sounds like BeamNG wants to really make a game, so I bet they will eliminate the importance of the menu. They will probably include one, but it would be for game settings and stuff, not for modifying cars and things that could be handled in a more creative way (like driving to a parts store to modify cars rather than just clicking some options in a menu). For the tools, they should be in the menu in an "Inventory" slot. Then, you could just click your inventory, choose your tools (or whatever else you feel provoked to use ), and use it. The tools need to be limited in races though. In free roam, you can do whatever, but there needs to be guidelines in races and events. For example, you couldn't take off the wheels of another person's car before a race because that's cheap and makes the game frustrating. Sledgehammers, axes, and spraypaint are fine because they don't harm the performance of the car (no slashing tires with the axe). Also, there needs to be some limiting factor for the tools. Otherwise, everyone would just screw up each other's cars and everyone would be driving in graffiti'd and dented cars. Maybe tools could only be used once per day, or they would require expensive repair after use (by expensive I mean a small amount compared to what you would win in an event). There would need to be something that would prevent everyone from wanting to wreck each other's cars. My god...I type a lot more that I think I do...;)

i think it would be cool to have tools like saws and things so you could do this or to turn a hard top car into a roadster! Or cut a car in half or something.

I think this would be very cool to have within the game. I remember someone saying if they could rip apart a car in half in this physics engine and someone else replied yes they could. Don't quote me on this one because this was quite awhile ago and I don't remember it very well. Anyway back to the saw idea, I think it would be cool to have some sort of device i.e.: saw, blade, or something like that to cut a car precisely and see how it affects the frame, structure, mobility of the car, or even if it's drive-able.

Maybe people could make tools themselves, like in RoR you could make a car and release it to public or just keep it for personal use, But then in BeamNG with tools.
Like if someone want a chainsaw as a tool he could make it himself or he requests someone to make a chainsaw for him. And I really like the idea of an inventory, just like Amnesia: you tap on your TAB button and your inventory appears and you double click on the thing you want to use, But then in BeamNG. I hope Gabester or Tdev is gonna do something with this idea. :)

Yup. The devs said you could literally rip a car in half with these physics. I don't think you could do that with a small saw though (or if you could, it would take a while). Instead, why not use on of these?

(imported from here)These things are built to cut through solid rock. A car should be no problem at all...;)

Or weapon support and damage (for avatar/Your ride) and component failure ex transmission failing.

Uhm, I think I dont understand you? what do you mean? What is with the transmission failing? Do you mean when you hit a car very hard the transmission fails and your car cant drive anymore?

He means to have planned failures, if you have ever played x-plane you can make certain that some stuff will fail so you can drive in that situation.

What I could get behind is a sledgehammer and crowbar to beat and bend things into shape. The rest seems like redundant detail. Duct tape is for stopping your fenders flapping in the wind when you drive a cheap car with some rust problems, not really something I'd use for structural repairs.

Component failure would be sooo much fun. I did this all the time in XPlane. I hope the Devs see this because it is a really good idea!
