like the title says.

would be pretty useful to dial in the right amount of ffb just like it is in every other driving sim in existence.

I'm not sure what you mean.
If you are looking on how to adjust the FFB strenght: Controls > Force Feedback > Click on the binding.
Further options regarding FFB will appear.

Try the FFB Graph app in the app menu. It shows the ffb signal and the limits so you can make sure you are not "clipping" too much.

thanks, that is what im looking for. i still think it would be nicer to have an app that recommends a strength setting (like "ffbclip" for assetto corsa) but this should do the job.
