This is a port of Fairhaven from Need for Speed Most Wanted 2012 made by Criterion Games. Fairhaven is a 72-square-kilometer map that features business areas, an interstate loop, construction sites, residential and commercial areas, and much more. This port also features Terminal Velocity Pack DLC map content. While porting this map I tried to make sure that it would work properly across a variety of hardware from steam deck to the high-end PCs. All objects were ported with their original LODs and optimized for BeamNG. All materials have been converted and improved to fit better with the BeamNG PBR material system. All textures were optimized to make sure they work properly on all kinds of hardware and game settings, which allows the map to work properly even on a 3GB VRAM GPU such as GTX 780. Is the road surface slippery? The road surface may appear more slippery than on other map ports as it's based on an Old Apshalt groundmodel. However, its behavior is not even comparable to wet asphalt. The only changes are sounds and particles from wet asphalt to match the original game. 2. Is there a way to get dry roads? Currently, it's impossible. I'm planning on implementing a weather system that allows changing road surface on the fly, which will solve the whole discussion about if the road is wet, when the road is wet or what is wet and other existential crisis questions to begin with. 3. How do I install this mod? After downloading the zip from links above, open game launcher, then press "Manage User Folder". There press "Open in Explorer" button. From there go to the "mods" folder. Copy your downloaded zip there. Mod is now installed. 4. I'm stuck in a crash camera, how to exit it? If you are stuck in a crash camera, make sure to stop your car for 10 seconds. If it's flipped over you can reset the car, but make sure to wait a few seconds till camera resets to normal. 5. I can't download the mod. Please help. It's not depending on me sadly. Due to the high demand access is often limited. Try all mirrors, or wait a few hours and try again. I'm trying to provide as many mirrors as possible to spread the load. I do not provide any support in case you want to modify, unpack, create addons for this mod. If you are doing anything else than downloading and putting this mod in the mods folder you are on your own! If you like my work support me here! Last Updated: 2024.02.10
Glad to have been able to test it Amazing map and possibly(?) one of the biggest in terms of freeroam. Gotta love Fairhaven.
What mods did you use for traffic? I am assuming it is private lol --- Post updated --- Also. the graphics look beautiful
probably are private, but it would be cool if he released the cars along side the mod as the 'car pack'
As mentioned in the post proper NFS traffic will come eventually, most likely based on the ones in the video. These traffic are made to be very lightweight for GFX and physics with a customized group system, where you can select a type of traffic and many other options. It's being worked on by @AgentMooshroom5. No ETA there
Some time ago I saw on your YouTube channel video with this port of the map. And since then I am very much waiting for it in BeamNG.drive. The most anticipated mod in the game. Judging by the video and everything you described, we are waiting for the best map ever. Thank you for your efforts, the map looks amazing! You also wrote at the bottom, "See you soon on the roads of Seacrest County". Is it possible that after Fairhaven map we will have Seacrest County map from Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit (2010)!?
Exactly, also I should mention Paradise City, it's in-game and working already with more or less finished materials, but everything else needs work, so I think it's a bit too early to make a thread for it as it would be not detailed enough. It will be very similar to Fairhaven just with different assets, and currently, it uses placeholder images everywhere.
Unbelievable! You've ported 3 maps of iconic gaming cities. And you've done it so well. I'm a little shocked, to be honest. Now I love this game and this forum even more! Thank you! In addition to all of the above, you also have the Lancer EVO 3! I dream to get one in the game. Can you tell me if there is any way to get this wonderful car?
Just waiting until someone manages to port Seacrest County as to put vehicles with SCPD liveries to great use.
Damn, I didn't know there was a mod for my grandma's car in BeamNG (I saw a Yukon in the traffic). This map looks awesome. I can't wait.
My second favorite NFS game getting it's map ported to Beam FINALLY (Second favorite only because Need For Speed World is my true favorite)
