Every car loads a manual tranny, even when auto is selected

I had this issue a while back but it resolved itself. Now, after I finally got my madkatz gamepad working, it has returned and won't go away

When the game first loads, it loads the truck, and a manual tranny. SOMETIMES it will switch to auto after resetting, reloading, and refreshing the truck, but once switching to any other vehicle, it gets stuck back at a manual tranny and no matter what I do it will not run an automatic. Not sure if this is a bug, or if it is a setting that is messed up..?

 

TY, I THINK that may have been the issue. I must have been hitting Q at some point accidentally. Seems to be OK for now.

Pressing Q does not seem to always work as I would have expected tho.. Sometimes it goes between auto and manual, and sometimes it staying manual and upshifts...

But, that doesn't matter ha, just need to avoid that key altogether I am thinking. Assuming it continues to work properly, TY, and the issue can be assumed resolved.
