ah yes. once again e3 is upon us! the classic wave of new trailers and information that you just cant seem to avoid. so, what is your opnion on this years E3?
What I liked: - The last night (mint art-style) - Original Xbox backward compatiblity. I don't own an Xbone, but that a huge +1 (I had one of those OX back in the days, and it's great allowing people to play great classics) (Also raises interest to that new Xbox One X, spec wise seems quite good) - Wolfestein 2 (loved the first one) - Ori (haven't played the first one, but after the new one's trailer and hearing a lot of positive feedback, it's a must try) What I disliked: - Fallout 4 VR at 60€ mark with no discount for existing owners (I'm not a fallout 4 fan, but that's a quite bad move for them)
What I liked: Shadow of the Colossus remaster What I disliked: The fact Playstation lacked a high powered console to rival the Xone X The stupid emphasis on Minecraft. It's a dead, boring, bloated game. Just let it die... Emphasis on VR. For someone who gets motion sick REALLY easily, VR's never gonna work for me. The Crew 2's new direction and art style. The folding looks gimmicky... The lack of BeamNG...
I liked: - The whole Ubisoft showcase, once again they managed to make the E3 a bit more fun to watch - The Crew 2 was a pleasant surprise for me - I really liked Far Cry 5 (pre-ordered that) - Beyond Good and Evil 2 was great to watch, can't imagine how good it plays though - Xbox One X seems to be the first console to outperform Gaming PCs - A Way Out looks very interessting, specially since we haven't seen a good Co-Op game in years - The announcement of the Life is Strange prequel (pre-ordered that) - Metro Exodus really impressed me (wasn't that the OST from 28 Days Later playing in the trailer?) I didn't like: - The whole Bethesda showcase they either showed old Games or Games no one cares about - NFS Payback aka The Crew, F&F Showdown and The Run munshed together. - Old games in VR, what's the Point? No, I don't want to play Fallout 4 again just because it's in VR, same goes for Doom and Skyrim (a nearly 6 year old game). And I definitely don't want to pay 60€ for them.
It's a hundred bucks over the average launch price. I think that a good price for the most powerfull console ever
I know. I'm kind of getting frustrated because I want to finish all my old games before I get new games so I can be up to date, but I can't stop playing beam.
Same here. Beam kinda ruined gaming for me. Whenever I crash my car in other games and get some nonsense "Deformation" I feel ripped off. Also, I'm terrified of driving IRL because of beam.
shadow of the Colossem was good. i like that. and I MAY be getting Forza 7 Motorsport. I don't have a sim rig but I have Logitech Driving force GT that I sometimes play Project CARS so Forza 7 looks cool. and @Fera forza 7 will be on PC not just on xbox. but its probably gonna be really hard to handle for other computers.
Watched most of the streams. The Wolfenstein intro was absolutely brilliant. The game that blew my mind was Days Gone, damn that game on the PS4Pro is unbelievably gorgeous! If I didn't know any better I'd thought it was on the Xbox 1 X. Forza 7 will be a first day purchase as will the X1X. Haven't played Forza since #4 so this will be a great time to get back to it. Anthem looks really cool, Bioware is kickin' ass. Disappointed as well Sony didn't announce 'PS5' but after seeing and hearing what they have planned for the pro I'm not worried. I think they will wait to announce it later in the year after the X1X is fully known. 8-10TFLOPS anyone? Godamn good times to be a gamer!
In the 90s we had the Bit Wars, now we're having the FLOPS Wars --- Post updated --- Edit after Nintendo: - Mario Odyssey looked super fun - The untiteled Kirby game reminded me a lot of Kirby 64, which is good - Pokemon RPG and Metroid Prime 4 announcements - The new Yoshi game looked terrible, yarn works for games cardboard does not
Those were the days. My mouth watered every time I saw a 32 bit game system headline on Electronic Gaming Monthly. Then, it was the Mhz! "Project Reality".....an unbelievable 94 Mhz monster with a 64 bit custom SGI processor!...ahem, the Nintendo 64. That extra 4MB ram upgrade made me superman.
