Steven Spielberg didn´t care so much for the car, but on the colour he was steadfast: it had to be red.

how about the suspension on the plymouth valiant, beside the engine was weak in 1971 on the film duel, it struggled to get pass 80 mph or 75 mph

At one stage it was almost doing a 100mph... Besides even with the slant six which two of the three cars were equipped with you'll still easily pass 85 (maybe even 105, dont ask how i know ;) ), i think the point was that david was a real wimp at the start and just didn't want to go that fast, notice how towards the end of the film the truck was no longer on the cars tail (this is disregarding the final mountain) and how david's attitude changes. Never mind that the original car used in the made-for-tv version had a 318...

Also the model there is 1969, not a '70, the two other cars used in the film was '71 and a very early model year '72, because the theatrical release was November '71

nah im not being against of the old slant cars m8 i love em that they arent fast bc i wanted the suspension like the '69 plymouth aswell some dents for the 2nd config selection when its released, as one of them is clean good condition and the other one in bad shape with dents and scratches

What do you mean suspension like the '69 plymouth? From '67 to 1973 the suspension was all the the same, do you mean you want the front to be bouncy like what you see on 318 powered '70? because depending how far in depth the tuning will be on this mod if its released you should be able to just back of the rebound setting a bit and lower the spring rate a bit...

I don’t think so, i’m not interested to technical details like this, the car Jbeam (deformation and physics) will be based on this car https://www.beamng.com/threads/update-for-the-68-71-dodge-coronet-v1-2.74832/ that is very similar to the valiant and maybe we can put the real Plymouth engine sound and horn.
The car will have a top speed of 95 MPH and 125 Horse Power like the real one.
We will have only a base configuration (the classic red one from the movie Duel) but the car will be colorable.
The car has got only a piece for every part (so no custom parts, only the default from the movie).
    --- Post updated ---
The car will use this dodge coroner Jbeam https://www.beamng.com/threads/update-for-the-68-71-dodge-coronet-v1-2.74832/ so the suspection system will be the same of this one

Posted on another thread, sorry if it's been asked. Will the Valiant have the push button shifter? When I was a teen I worked with an old-timer who had one
