I like them. They look like the original ones. And seriously, there HAS to be a map coming out soon to match the new thumbnails. If there isn't, it will keep you from forgetting that your General Lee Moonhawk and your Gulf GT40 Bolide are NOT official.
I think the dark background looked much more modern. The new ones remind me of one of the GUIs that only lasted for one update or so. Didn't like it then and don't like it now. We have the option to change the color scheme, I hope we get the option to have the old thumbnails. I imagine it would be easy to implement and maintain. I see how some people can like them but I personally don't. While I'm talking about it I may as well ask, does anyone know why don't the trailers have the same background as the cars?
I'm uploading a mod that replaces the new thumbnails with the old ones now, stay tuned Update - He he
They look good. But new ones every few updates is a waste of time imo. I mean why? The old pics looked fine and crisp. And those who have a config modpack, and are bothered how it looks in the selector (like me), have to make new pics. More timewaste! Not hating, just saying...
I think the idea was that they made the thumbnail creation tool, so all the thumbnails need to match with that. The fact they are brighter helps to see the cars more clearly, so I don't mind them really.
Yes, I kinda like them. Ive been seeing the same thing for a while now. They should update them so now and then tbh
I've been making thumbnails with white background for my mods all the time! Did I set an example for the devs?
My guess is to make more of a distinction between drivable vehicles (like cars and trucks) and things that can't move under their own power or wouldn't be considered vehicles (like trailers, balls, and ramps).
