Hello, I was going to make this thread a long time ago but now that I've played it for longer I figured I'd make it now. (No im not trying to sell you the game, or make you buy it. i just want some opinions) Basically I wanted to know if anyone from these forums has played/or plays iRacing. If you do what are your favourite cars and tracks to drive? favourite series to race in? What are your opinions on how the cars drive, damage, look ect. I raced Oval since i signed up, now that its a new year and new season im starting to get more into the road races (still a few ovals now and then). One big thing is I always race fixed-setups, I don't have the time or motivation to learn how to set up all their cars for the tracks we go to. Also I think it would be neat to compare their driving 'feel' and simulation in the future, only because iRacing says it has the 'The most realistic driving experience ever created for PC'. Also they have somewhat of a good damage model as well. (Its old as crap though i think) Gabester if you see this, have you played and experimented with their cars? or have any opinion on it. If you never heard of it or dont know much about it, see below. I paid $30 for my first three months, which came with all the cars and tracks i needed for that time(See above list). Once you get better you will need to be more aware of what you buy. make sure if you buy a car you will be driving it often. just my two cents XD i bought a car that i dont drive anymore (Only downside to this game is the cost for all the 'licenses') With it being updated all the time and new content being added annually i can see myself playing this for a long time. Also, i can say very few games have made me sweat just from the nervousness/adrenaline/excitement from pack racing and 'tandem drafting' like this game has. 43 700+hp race cars side by side going over 180mph is crazy fun. The thing is getting in a race with good drivers who know what their doing can be hard (unless you play hosted sessions, user made races) Another thing is they do giveaways nearly all year round i think. Sometimes sponsored by Fanatec, PEAK, Obutto. (All happening right now) Usually you will have to put their logo as your main sponsor and compete in 10 official races where you complete 50% of the laps the leader completes. Things like that.
Lol? Nascar type of racing is only 3 of the 20+ series you can race in. ^ Is some of their cars. not all but there are more real-life based road series (i.e GT3,) than real-life based oval series (i.e nascar)
THis reminded me of that south park episode where cartman wanted to be a nascar driver so he tried to make himself poor and stupid. On-topic: No. but it seems interesting.
lol, if your into racing games/sims and like it to be semi-serious and serious, its really fun. Like i said before though cost is a good factor with this. also theres pro drivers who play now and then. not sure exactly how much but i missed a race being hosted by Darrell Wallace Jr from the camping world truck series lastnight Wouldve been a neat experience i.m.o
Is it really worth getting? I think I will get it. Only problem is that the only source of adequate money is a $50 redeemed Amazon card. I wish I could get a steam card through amazon though.
ive played iracing for the past 5 years..the racing is the best in the sim world...(sure AC looks better but lack of MP and structured service hurt it) heres the first live broadcast race I was in last year..top split race
I would say yes, but atm it's only early access (version 0.6 of 1.0). The driving is really mindblowing, the feeling for each car is so damn right. AI is the only way to drive races, but mp will come in the next time. Each update should come after 2 weeks. Atm the price is lowered and you get first dlc free too. The subscription has always put me off iRacing and Rallying is my favorite type of racing so I'll just stick with Richard Burns Rally.
What is Richard Burns Rally actually like? Always wondered, also, is it possible to play with a controller or do you really need a wheel?
Feed Me. On topic, I have played iRacing on a friends PC, it looked nice and indeed the cars feel very nice...not sure if the car's suspension systems are as accurate (or as detailed) as NGs, I only played for a couple minutes a few weeks ago. But it is a nice game, and the updates I hear are nice too. Might have to buy that one too. nothing wrong with supporting other game devs :0
By "iRacing" do you mean "NASCAR Racing 2003 Season with mods"? If so, yes. Apparently over 90% of iRacing's code is the same as that in NR2003, so you're paying a monthly subscription for what amounts to a multiplayer-only game with an 11-year-old physics and damage model. According to wiki, i guess so i wouldnt say 90%, id say 10%. in 12 years or so with updates every year im sure they've made alot of things better. although i never played nascar2003, or am not some racing simulator guru. so yeah my opinion doesnt matter lol. cool though?
What do you want to know? My opinion: only the sound engine is bad, rest of it is atm unfinished or will come in later updates free to us. The driving physics and graphics are already super. Modding will be supported and tools will come shortly after the release. AC got many modder already working on products. Dlcs add much content over the years too ( should have fair prices). Oops, I was wrong. iRacing's owner, David Kaemmer, admitted in court (as prosecutor in iRacing.com Motorsport Simulations, LLC v. Robinson) that the code for iRacing was about 65% the same as NR2003's. From the court transcript (http://www.business-litigation-associates.com/iRacing.pdf): The question that was asked of David Kaemmer was very simple, "How much of the original NR2003 code remains in the iRacing software?" DK responded with, "I do not know exactly, but I estimate 65% is unaltered NR2003 code" Tim Robinson's lawyer asked, "So why do you state as little as 1% to the media and on your own site?" DK responds with, "We tell the public and media a different number" Tim R's lawyer asked, "Why would you do that?" DK responds with, "We do not want our customers to know or they may not buy our product" Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk
