Disable “hotspots?”

Is there a way to disable or hide the hotspots (the little icons on the map in actual gameplay)?? If not, please make this a priority as those little flags absolutely kill any immersion in the simulation.

 

Options -> Gameplay -> General -> Uncheck "Use Mission System". Those mission hotspots threw me off too, but fortunately there is a way to disable them, albeit hidden away in the settings menu.
