Hi to everyone. It's just few weeks I'm into this amazing game and I'm having a lot of fun. This week I started learning something about modding and I focused on sounds. I love that I can assign sounds and blend them through the rpm scale, but there is such a nice problem I found and I wanted to know if there's a way to solve it or not. I realized that - because the engine sounds are referenced to a particular vehicle - it's impossible to have different sounds for the different trims of the car. For example, I installed a mod that added a diesel engine configuration to the ETK models, but actually it sounds the same as the gasoline engine. This because the sound of the engine is depending on the ".sbeam" file, that is associated only to the car model, and makes no difference whatever trim/configuration you are chosing. I know that it depends on a main code architecture, but I ask it anyway... Is there a way to bypass this problem?
Hey, unfortunately the sbeam are designed to be used per vehicle. In an upcoming new sound system you will be able to use these kind of files per engine!
I had this problem by myself a few months ago. Here's the solution: https://www.beamng.com/threads/multiple-sounds-on-one-mod.32938/
