Various trailers with various loads. I'll make more loads tomorrow. You can put any load on any trailer (excpet caravan and flail obviously). No trailer load will conflict with any vehicle-specific loads.
how does having the trailer affect fps? i presume the trailer counts as the 'car' since its spawned using the customization menu
I've noticed that the caravan can slow down the parts selector UI slightly, but so far no noticable FPS loss in gameplay. Unless maybe you use a performance heavy mod on a bad PC and add the trailer to it. No way I can really test this because my PC is generally on the good side except for the bad GPU.
If you need to test with slower CPU, then sometimes what works is to set maximum CPU frequency in power options to something less than 100%, although that works better with Intel than AMD, with AMD 99% makes CPU to use only base clock speeds already: Anyway that can be useful for people creating content and wanting to test with weaker system, so I though it makes sense to post here.
I'm not aiming to make it work specifically with lower systems though. If you can't use this mod then you still have most of its functionality in the vanilla game, just use vanilla trailers. --- Post updated --- I had one more quick silly idea: Removing the caravan interior and putting loads in it lol
I'm having too much fun adding weird loads. First one I added today, the HAY BALE SQUAREâ„¢ Another is the adjustable metal box. Comes with optional decals, and you can edit the size and weight like in the vanilla one. And also the barrell. Except you have way more options for the barrel content than in the vanilla game. And some of them are... weird. (Yes they are all correctly simulated in terms of density, this would be the mass if the whole thing fitted in a 55 gallon barrel.) You can probably guess what the heaviest ones do... They can help you do infinite wheelies! The infinite mass one is so heavy that the barrel instantly disappears, because it clips through the trailer and the ground faster than the game can detect collision. If the game simulated gravity for nodes, then it would suck the whole vehicle with it. (And similarly, the other ultra heavy ones would do the same, starting from the black hole.) It's amazing that the game lets you simulate such heavy stuff without issues! Some more load ideas for later: piano, spare wheels stack, rocks, car repair accessories, and maybe something explosive.
Alright, so i got some parts of the offbrand fiat working in game, but the jbeams are horrible. For example, here's it's 90kph small overlap test compared to a Piccolina which is still extremely fragile, you can see that the whole roof is bent, the front structure bends upwards and the suspension is twisted. I'm not sure if i'll be able to finish this project, i might have to abandon it because the jbeaming phase just eats away at my motivation. Maybe i'll just pass it on to someone who knows how to jbeam correctly and wants to do something with it, idk
