for the longest time I thought they weren't working, even with the engine turned off, I couldn't hear them. Now I've gone and made my own custom horn clipping through the roof in audacity, I can just hear it over the engine if I listen carefully.

Is there a way to have beamng just play it louder? (keep in mind I'm okay with jbeam files, but don't understand LUA at all)

So those audio files are very quite. You should find better audio files because there's no way to increase the volume of horn

I've tested 2 mods, and made my own where I have it so loud and clipping that it's hard to tell what it is in beamng (and still quiet)

I haven't checked your horn specifically, but from what I've seen, custom sounds in general have a different volume curve.

This is what it feels like in my experience. This happens on my custom sounds for the FS-65/CB40 as well

(that wasn't my horn, it was just one of the mods that have the same effect)
I set my own horn to clip because it was so loud, and it still wasn't as loud as the stock horn, so the custom horn volume shouldn't be as loud as stock. Is there some kind of code line I can write?
