But uh? Even the official ones look like that. No wonder I've always questioned the official textures. How should I go about importing the official normal maps to Gimp?
Official normal maps uses BC3 DDS format, which only a few programs can import correctly. Gimp is more likely not importing them correctly for you. Try blender, it has no problem with those.

Uhm, I'm supposed to have another mod to check this? Your part uses 'pigeon_bed_ext' slot, but the pigeon doesn't have that slot?
Sorry for the late reply. I'm having troubles to even just get the long bed working here: I don't think I've done anything wrong. Got your mod, and pasted the files from the last ZIP in here on them..
Weird. I'll PM you the file that works for me. The lightbar seen in the log is the second thing I need to fix before updating. But other than that there shouldn't be any problems.
The problem has now been solved thanks to @meywue . The issue was with my normal maps. To export normal maps, one must use BC5 / Ati2 (3Dc) compression type.
