After buying drive, my only real suggestion at this point that I have not seen on the forums (even after searching) is the ability to have cars of the same model with different crash test ratings. For example, the Pickup is quite rigid compared to the civic-lookalike. It'd be cool to (while choosing a vehicle) to pick what crash test rating the car is suited for. Many of the cars, even when crashed into a wall at highway speeds, have very little intrusion or deformation of the cabin (compared to what would happen in real life that is). I can understand wanting some models that can withstand offroading with breaking, but perhaps having different crash test ratings for each model would allow for people to use the cars for different applications. I know some people like to simulate towing or off roading or racing-- those applications could entail higher crash test ratings. There are other people who like to crash cars; and when I slam a car into a pylon at 80 miles per hour, I expect the cabin of the car to be part of the crumple zone. Just my two cents. This is still by far the best representation of car crashes out there; I'd like to see this put into GTA V when it is ported to PC!

The passenger compartment deformation is tuned to match real-world crash footage and crash tests. If you're not seeing any deformation after an 80 mph crash either it wasn't 80 mph or you don't have much of an eye for deformation
Thats fine, the suggestion is that we choose between something that would receive a "5" or a "1" for instance. having Beamng Drive physics in GTA 5 would most likely take 2 super computers to play... on a stable 30 fps.
I'd like to view these videos. I just spent an hour crash testing (full frontal impact) the default hatch, pickup, and van at max speed. Seems like there would be way more deformation for cars that old (1980s), especially the pickup. (imported from here)
Find me a real video of a pickup like the one gabe made being crashed at "max speed", then I might take your opinion a little serious.

The top speed of a truck like that is ~85 miles per hour. 60 miles per hour is double the speed and 4 times the kinetic energy which means that much more damage. That is irrelevant to the discussion/suggestion though. I don't care if an older model car is modeled to the crash standards of a modern day car. I am just suggesting that there be the "normal" car and then the slightly weakened car for more spectacular crashes at lower speeds allowing for more control over the car before the moments of impact.
Since you brought up crash testing, I think it would be really cool to have a map that tests cars strength. Such as a huge metal swing kind of thing (sorry i could'nt find a picture because i don"t know what its called exactly). It could work like this, you drive your car up to the side of it, then by pressing some key of some sorts it could slam down into the side of a car. Sorry if it sounds confusing.

The 50's Renault is destroyed, mainly because the engine is in the back. If you do the same speed with the Ibishu Covet (as seen in video's since I don't have the game myself yet) the damage with about the same speed will be less.
You missed the point of my post entirely: if crashing at max speed results in so little passenger compartment damage, then something is wrong.
