Just wanted to air this out and mention it for the future of Beamng (Multiplayer). Crackdown 3 on Xbox One use servers (up to seven in the worst case in Kotaku's test) to handle the extreme physics calculations that can arise. Maybe this cloud tech is useful for Beamng, or atleast to spawn ideas to ease up the individual processors calculations. http://kotaku.com/crackdown-3-shows-what-the-xbox-one-can-really-do-1723179052
Can you please tell me how a startup company such as BeamNG would fund 7 or more servers for 24/7 use? I don't think that it's possible as of right now, but maybe in a few years they can pay for it. Than again, multiplayer is on the buttom of the list of things they want to do, so it happening at all is quite unlikely.
Did you miss the word 'future' or did you just assume what i wrote and replied to your own assumption? In that case, read it again.
They could afford it right now. I mean they worked pretty hard and with buyers and donates they i believe have the actual own building with everything they need worth almost 5,000$ worth of gaming equipment alone with their own office. Its pretty nice if you look into their blogs.
The one time cost of gaming hardware is nowhere near as expensive as buying and maintaining a Microsoft Azure-like server.
