This is by far a long shot, so apologies for the messy post. I haven't played beam for a while, and i wanted to try out the new hummer-demo-whatever. I had my fun, trashing things around and just messin' about, but before i get to the case i would like to say i have never installed any horror mods for the game and i have also not used the halloween gamemode before. Today, i tried the jungle rock island map for the first time in a few weeks or so. After a while i came across a section of jungle that emitted strange, borderline creepy sounds. It sounded like a ghost or a soul of some sort, breathing from everywhere and nowhere at the same time. I dont really know how to describe it, but it definitely made me uncomfortable. I could swear it seemed louder at the end (see attached video(s)), and i don't know if this is intentional, as it can be heard on pretty much every bit of jungle on the map, it turns out. Am i going insane? Let me know what you guys think. Spoiler This is most likely ambient noises intentionally added by the devs to make the game more life-like. I know this isnt a ghost, but i'd still love to share conspiracies surrounding this. If you're just here to comment "erm, this is basic knowledge!!!!!" or "bruh, thats not creepy!!!", then just leave the thread. (Source: BeamNG Conspiracy Iceberg)
I mean, random sounds from the jungle are always going to be creepy, especially distant ones only heard from afar. I can't hear your video too well (headphones are on the fritz), but it sounds mostly like bird sounds, maybe howler monkeys. Which can totally sound terrifying IRL, too. Combine that with the fact that Beam's maps are generally devoid of life and you have the fuel to stoke a runaway imagination. It's not impossible that the devs wanted a purposely creepy atmosphere, though. It's been done before.
Could be howler monkeys. Completely shook me though, as you can see i didn't stay on the road for too long.
