Support Troubleshooter Known Issues Bug reporting

Changed Display to 1920x1080, and now I can't even open the game via Steam.

    So basically, I have been playing the game for quite some time now, long before it came to Steam. I got the Steam version, but when I played the game, it was its normal windowed mode. I decided to go fullscreen, and change the display to 1920x1080. The game instantly crashed. Now, when I select to play the game, my screen goes black for a moment, then back to the desktop. I have no idea what to do. Please help.

    Let me remind you this it through Steam. I can still play the game normally without Steam.

    Revert back to old settings using the non-Steam version and retry.
    Also try windowed mode in case you are using fullscreen.

    That's the problem. The game won't open, and I can't get to the option to revert back to windowed mode.

    You said the Non-Steam works fine :\

    I would delete the whole BeamNG folder (Steam > Delete Local Files) and let it redownload. Or search for the file that contains the game configuration, I don't really remember where it is or how it's called, but I'm sure it's a .cfg file..somewhere..

    i believe it's BeamNG.drive\scripts\client\prefs.cs that stores settings

    not sure though

    Yes, just delete prefs.cs and the game will revert to default settings. It should be in My Documents\BeamNG.drive\cache\scripts\client\ for the Steam experimental branch. If you're on the stable build, I believe prefs.cs is still in the Steam BeamNG.drive folder (again, in scripts\client\)

    That method was suggested to me by someone else and it didn't work when I had tried. Nadeox had mentioned a key combination to switch between windowed and full screen and that how I solved the same problem.
