Hello! as you know my date of joining the BeamNG forums dates way back to Sep of 2013, but up until last year ive started talking on the forums, I was thinking about downloading blender and possibly trying to make a mod on a Minivan, But it will be a real life brand so it will be here in the forums, if you guys can help me with J-beaming or so and what software or 3D modelling stuff to use besides blender say it here. here is the Car I'm thinking about, if you want to I can hold a poll. or this. since I have NO SKILL whatsoever, I will need LOTS of help.
You hopefully know how difficult it is to make car mods? It takes more than just modeling. You will need to invest a lot of your free time. And don't expect to make it good the first time. Get to work with blender first. Start of with some easy stuff. Then work yourself up and start making a car. After that you will Ofc need to texture it. Make a uv map. Write some code. And make a jbeam structure. It's not easy
Sure! all of this will probably be done tomorrow, if I can be on my PC, but I will install blender and start learning. QUICK NOTE: I can not work on this Nor be on BeamNG drive from next Monday, to the following Monday due to me being on a trip. --- Post updated --- I have Lots of free time and I know how difficult it will be.
Takes months to learn blender. Takes months to get good at textures etc. Takes quite some skill to get jbeam. You're at least 12 months away from being able to start modding. Modelling cars is not a beginner's project, it's quite an advanced one
Yup i found that out the hard way. It is harder than it looks, Hey if it was super easy everyone would do it.
How about something like this on a Covet. These normally have Leaf Spring Rear Suspension. Photographs: Renault R5 Rapid Seat Terra (My Ride before I owned it (now on Proper Steel Wheels again) Opel Combo C.
Try a small car. Big, bulky cars seem really complex since you have to make the car huge with lots of detail while small cars could be easier because it is much more compact, and I guess the shape could be better*. I say Lotus Elise, Golf, a Chevy Spark, or maybe even a Mini. *this is not really 100% fact I am sure someone is going to yell at me to correct me I am not a modder.
WTF is a Sienna? Sorry live in Australia. A Citroen HY van would be even better Theyre a pretty cool car. And a French town mod like Saint Tropez would be the perfect place to drive it. --- Post updated --- Mini?! If youre making a Mini please make the Morris Cooper Mark 1. One of my dream cars.
A Sienna is a minivan made my the Japanese company Toyota. It started production in 1998 and it is still being produced. It is manufactured in the state of Indiana.
Why not a Acura Integra? I find it original enough, and yes I know how tough it is, so you would have to watch a tutorial or more to get used to.
