So I'm working on a secret Sunburst race car. But, I'm having some serious turning problems. The car under-steers way to much and barely turns even at full lock on the first corner of the raceway but once it starts to over-steer the car turns better, but it gets too carried away. Braking doesn't help the cause either.

Every thing is great but the turning issue. 20170114123001_1.jpg 20170114123012_1.jpg 20170114123035_1.jpg 20170114123042_1.jpg

In real life, full lock means instant understeer, unless you reach full lock progressively, or unless you are going slow enough (in street cars, this is typically something like 20km/h).
To avoid understeer, never go full lock, instead modulate the steering to the optimum slip angle (which depends on the tire design and compound, steering and suspension geometry, etc).

If you spend your grip budget on braking, you have less grip budget for steering. So braking while steering can mean even more understeer (you do transfer weight to the front axle, which may help a little, so it's a very difficult balancing act).

Well, to decrease understeer, you will want to stiffen the rear sway bar, rear spring rate, rear damping ratio, lower the rear down force, so on and so forth.

That being said however, as stenyak pointed out, the further you turn the wheels past their max grip angle (which of course changes with speed) the less grip you will have toward turning and the more grip you will be converting into sliding. Also, in terms of breaking, if you are breaking while entering a corner and start to run wide, it is a common practice to actually start letting off of the breaks to give more of that grip back to the tires to use for turning. Yea, if it seems you are going to fast into a corner, at times it is actually better to let off the brakes to make the corner then to be on them.

It's a little backwards sounding, but under the right circumstances, it does come into play and can save your racing line (and your car)

As someone once said "I canny change the laws of physics" and this game HAS physics in them, you have to take account for things and read up on how to counter under and over steer to make it corner perfectly,

Thanks i will take your advice and put you in the credits for the car. I now have the perfect car that fits my idea. Now i need to worry about the cooling.
