can't enable 144hz on windowed borderless

hey there, I'm having this issue with Beam where my monitor just blacks out whenever I play on windowed borderless (for me, much more comfortable than FS), I can see the display when Beam isn't focused, and I noticed that it's stuck at 60hz and won't change/adapt to my 144hz display.

I used windowed borderless because Beam in full screen (FS) un-FS' when I change a window (if it's to btop++ to check system status, Spotify to change a song, or Chrome to change videos in YT) while in windowed borderless it doesn't do that.

Is there something I can do? Cheers and Happy New Year!
