Body swap issue

    Hello, I swapped body from Bastion to roamer but something wont work, what I mean is that my game is pausing after choosing my custom body, I am sending bunch of screenshots of how it looks like and on what it stops, I will add body jbeam too but tommorow

    I believe good sir that the OP is attempting to transplant the body of one automobile onto the framework another. Truly a hopeless endeavour as they are anything but compatible.

    Yeah it is hard since the Bastion is not a body-on-frame unlike the Roamer.

    What do you mean by that? Car is in positions like these becouse I can unpause my game, but if you mean what I am trying to do is taking body from Bastion and place it on roamer s frame

    So it tries flying into oblivion but then pauses due to an instability immediately.

    Bastion s body shape doesnt have to be compatible with wheels and other stuff becouse I will still lift it and add some things in blender, if thats whats you mean

    Yeah, the instability is propably caused by the fact that the roamer frame and bastion body have stuff like suspension, fuel tank, engine etc. That’s my guess as to what’s happening.

    The Bluebuck (what Fillman used in his BlueRoamer video) is also a body-on-frame.

    It cant have this becouse I deleted this in blender, and when I was adding files like doors etc. I didnt add suspension

    Deleting something in Blender is not equal to removing a part. The engine will just be invisible.

    Something as complex as a whole body swap cannot be made by simply following a tutorial as there are lots of things that can go wrong. For example in your case it looks like you used the nodeOffset on X axis instead of Y. But that's likely to not be your only issue, you would need to be really careful with the naming of nodes, and with which beams attach where. Fillman doesn't cover things like this in his videos as it's a lot of boring work to troubleshoot. Generally I advise against attempting to put a unibody on a frame unless you really know what you are doing, it would be easier to use a body of a different body-on-frame vehicle.
    Another thing I would do differently, is not doing all of this in the Roamer folder, but in the folder of the vehicle that has the body. It would greatly reduce the mod's file size, especially with the Roamer which uses generic common assets for the whole drivetrain including the frame. And you could use the D-Series instead of the Roamer, since they use basically the same frames but the D-Series has more variety in terms of length and overhang so one of those variants would potentially fit your vehicle better.

    In the bastion body jbeam, in „slots”, there’s - Well - Slots.
    You have to find ones that propably conflict with the Roamer and remove lines with them.
    Slots are what decides what parts does a part contain. Contrary to electric motors, there can only be one combustion engine in a car, so you have to note that.

    Well, maybe I should change frame, but my choice is limited to these two guys I believe, another thing is choosing body, I take it becouse I just take it. This doesnt have to be Bastion but everyother vehicle, but I dont know which one should I take, my idea is to make a crawler but my modded suspension can be installed only on roamer or d series frame. Another thing is place where I should put the mod in, now its placed in mods - unpacked-- is it really big difference?

    It is in the correct place currently. You need to plan a bit what body to use. You will need a vehicle that is already body on frame, and has similar wheelbase, track width, engine position and overhang to one of the D-Series or Roamer frames. It can take a long while to find a suitable vehicle.

    Maybe this could be solution too, becouse I take the body jbeam straight from the vehicle in game and just add these things

And to be honest I dont look at the wheelbase and stuff like this becouse I will edit the body in blender, I will delete stuff from suspension like inners etc I focus on to make it working in the game, and next thing is remodeling it

    And can you give me examples of vehicles I should use?

    Body on frame vehicles include: Bluebuck (mod with Roamer frame swap has already been done on it), Burnside, Grand Marshal (also has been done), Hopper, Moonhawk, D-Series and Roamer (they use the same drivetrain), H-Series (uses a very similar one already), Pigeon, T-Series (way too large for this) and Wigeon. I would say the sensible options are Burnside and Moonhawk.

    I have to agree with Agent Y, modifying a Bastion body to be suitable is quite difficult, especially for non-advanced modders.
    I honestly suggest the Burnside. An offroad one would be cool :p

    But I dont know why front nosecone wont show, and hood has no textures, I mean its orange
