Big problem with Radial Menu

Hello!
So basically, the radial menu is acting weird. When im in Escape Mode, it's there like usual. When im NOT in escape mode, and just driving, it is still there.

 

have you restarted the game and cleared cache?

 

Same for me and cleared cache and restarted multiple times

 

Yep. It's been happening for months, but usually I've just moved it to the side and pretended like it wasn't there.

This is true for me, however it also appears in the in-game menu (escape) mode

 

mine started +-2 weeks ago and has not stopped

 

what about deleting it and then putting it back?

I had this problem about a year ago. For me what fixed it was deleting the freeroam.uilayout.json file in my USERDATA folder (or which ever uilayout is broken for you):

\BeamNG_UserData\0.26\settings\ui_apps\layouts\default\
(I forget the default location - but before you launch BeamNG goto Manage User Folder > Open In Explorer)

The USERDATA folder is only for modified files so deleting freeroam.uilayout.json wont delete the original layout file located in the install directory (so its safe - but if youre worried maybe make a backup of the files just in case). What probably happened is you modified the UI layout and something broke it - any changes you made gets saved in the USERDATA folder only, so after deleting that file the game will then look towards the default layout file instead of your modified and broken one, and it should fix it self.




If you delete your modified layout files in the USERDATA folder and the bug still happens (but that should fix it) then delete the the whole UI folder in the install directory:

X:\Steam\steamapps\common\BeamNG.drive\settings\ui_apps\originalLayouts\default\

In this case its best to back up the whole folder just in case - but once deleted Verify Integrity of Game Files in Steam (in the left hand menu of your games list in Steam: Right Click BEAMNG > Properties > Local Files) and it should find and replace the missing files (since you deleted them they are missing) Then the game should be working as normal. But the first solution of deleting the USERDATA layouts should work.

 

Or if you can't do that then go to UI apps and change layout to freeroam or whatever you want.

 

I wonder. Is it possible you could press alt u? it gets rid of the ui apps too though until you press it once more. :/

 

I found the fix, so press escape then Alt U, Then Esc and Alt U again. When you want the radial menu press Esc twice and it should pop up. To remove it escape then Alt U, Then Esc and Alt U and esc.
