I was thinking that it would be a good idea to have a mod for a better tire squeal sound, like when slamming on the brakes. I know there are some sound mods out there already, but none seem to have an accurate tire sound. I want one like in real life. As close as possible to the real thing.

What is tire squeal sound that is in your mind?

My experience is that different tires, vehicles and roads make different sounds, there are no one universal right sound out there.

What might be best sound for your sound system, might then be not best with some other sound system, what kind of audio setup you have?

To get most realistic experience, I think sound pressure should be considered too, cars are loud, tires can be very loud too, having 100dbA in gaming room might not be for everyone, but it surely helps to really get right kind of feel to it.

I don't really know how tire squeal currently works, but in reality there is lot of sound sources, each tire of course, but then with each contact patch there can be more than 1 sound source, if currently there is only one squeal playing, then it would be improvement to make all tires have their individual squeal and I think each tire node sliding could have it's own, but that might go bit too complicated, one source for one tire should be good and of course playing from position of tire, that would improve a lot when you can hear which corner locks up etc.

I don't know if any game uses such approach though, tire squeal is always though as single sample playing and usually it plays at 0,0 position. To get that proper effect I think each tire needs own sound source, so when someone makes 20 wheeled things there would be 20 sounds playing, I'm sure devs are laughing at how simple that will be to implement, but I think it would give lot of immersion factor, would be more like being there, I guess.
